It was such a pleasure to be part of such a memorable event.                                  The Canadian Hot Rod Club - The Atlantic Tour (click on photos to see enlargements) There were over 50 cars here at the hotel from all over Canada and the US The group traveled from Ontario to Cape Breton over the course of a coupe of weeks. What a super group of people. While they were here they traveled around the Cabot Trail. They also held their banquet here at the hotel.                                                                                                                                                   FORTRESS OF LOUISBOURG The Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Park is the largest historical reconstruction in Canada. Named for the famous explorer John Cabot, the Cabot Trail winds ascending to the incredible plateau of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. www.cabottrail.com BIRD ISLAND BOAT TOUR The Bird Island Boat Tour is a unique nature adventure, which is both fun and educational. The tour will take you along the rugged coastline to reach the seabird colony, just a mile offshore. www.birdisland.net GAELIC COLLEGE The Gaelic College is dedicated to the preservation of the Gaelic Language and Celtic Arts and Culture and is the only institution of its kind in North America. www.gaeliccollege.edu ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL MUSEUM The Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site is a must-see during your Cape Breton visit. The museum houses artifacts and photographs from the inventor?s life. www.visitbaddeck.com MARCONI NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE The Marconi site marks the place from which Guglielmo Marconi sent the first wireless transatlantic signal in 1902. www.pc.gc.ca/lhn-nhs/ns/marconi/natcul/index_E.asp MINERS' MUSEUM & MINERS' VILLAGE The Cape Breton Miners' Museum is located on a 15 acre site, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Take a guided tour of the underground coal mine located beneath the museum. The Miners' Museum is open year round and welcomes group tours. www.minersmuseum.com NORTH SYDNEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY The North Sydney Museum is dedicated to the preservation of the history and culture of the town of North Sydney. Drop by and experience the rich history of this town, a friendly seaport since 1785. SYDNEY MINES HERITAGE MUSEUM Housed in the former railway station, the Sydney Mines Heritage Museum works to preserve the area?s heritage and history. Some of the heritage includes steel making and coal mining.
